This workshop is unique and fun. Quilters come away looking at their fabric and quilts in a whole new way. Pat loves quilts that are very playful and free flowing. This class is about how Pat uses use asymmetrical designs, appliqué that is large, and lots of fabric. Pat’s focus for this class is on developing the background, with a concentration on fabric selection and placement. The workshop offers students extensive one-on-one advice on color and fabric selection. We will be recreating Ma-Ma’s Garden and the pattern is included.

This class includes what you should know and practice before attempting heirloom machine quilting with trapunto and feathers. You should be familiar with your machine and its settings for needle down, free-motion quilting, dropped feed dogs and tension adjustment. You will learn
ergonomic techniques for working with your machine for long periods of time, marking, basting, navigating the quilt top, grid quilting, echo
quilting, continuous lines, stippling to enhance the top design and numerous background quilting design choices. (Pattern/material fee $10
paid to Lona at class time.) The next two classes in the series will be October 24th and November 21st.

    • Magical Medallions -Block 3, Instructor: Karen Kay Buckley, Cost: $75, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Karen has been fascinated with medallion style quilts for a long time and has created one large quilt using 13 different designs adapted from
early European architecture. In this workshop we will hand appliqué on just one of those blocks in order to learn many of the techniques used
in the “Magical Medallions” quilt. While you hand appliqué on this 19″ square block you will learn to make bias stems, perfect circles, use an
underlay fabric and an overlay fabric and create smooth curves and sharp points. (Sewing machines will be required to make the stems.) Check with the store for the use of one of our classrooms machines, rather than bringing your own for this one task.

    • Christmas Tree Skirt, Instructor: Maria O’Haver, Cost: $35, Oct 4th, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Use a variety of beautiful holiday fabrics to make strip sets which are then recut with a wedge ruler to create the fan shaped tree skirt. The
result is an elegant addition to your holiday home decorations. Skills to be learned: Strip set piecing, using a wedge ruler and binding zigzag
edges.  Be sure to look for Maria’s upcoming Square in a Square Technique class this Winter at Patches Quilting.

Dear Future Husqvarna Viking Sewing machine owner,

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Toni @ 4:28 pm

In these strange economic times, we have seen consumers, like you, postpone purchases that they believe to be more of a luxury than a need. Fortunately for you, that includes our premium brand Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond & Designer SE & SE LE sewing and embroidery machines.  Your inspirations can soon become realities. In order to stimulate your purchasing power, we are passing on REDUCED factory prices to our customers.  Say what you will but we are dedicated and focused on keeping you up to date, sewing and quilting on the best, and even embroidering at large! There is no other reason than we get a perk from the company and we pass it on. And in this case, it happens to be a rather large perk!

What would you say if we offered you the top-line DESIGNER DIAMOND or SE or SE LE machine for almost HALF PRICE?
Would you call us crazy???
What if we gave you free owners classes?
Would that make us crazy?
That would make us certifiably nuts, right?
Well, commit us for sure when we give you a full 24 months interest-free financing to pay for it!

Rumor control ladies!
Our company is strong, our shop is hustling and bustling and we’re selling machines like crazy these days! (yes, these days!) When we get a national Overstock special…we always pass the savings on to you…no matter how crazy it makes us look! So what’s the catch…cuz there’s always a small little catch, right?

And here it is – you have to want the latest in touch screen possibilities, “tons” of 9 mm stitches, 200+ built-in embroidery designs, MegaHoop capabilities for x-large pillow-tops, quilt blocks, and packet backs! USB transfer and free software for all of you embroidery enthusiasts out there…and SEW much more!!!!!

24 Months Interest-Free financing requires a $250 deposit…that’s all there is to it after you qualify for your Husqvarna Viking Home Design Card.

Bonus: (‘Cuz we’re not nuts enough…)
The first 6 SE or SE LE machines sold will receive a FREE Fabric Mover with stitch regulator ($1299 value).
The first 6 DESIGNER DIAMONDS will receive a Husqvarna Viking ER10 Felting machine (a $369 Value) and free embroidery designs.

Save even more with a trade-in!!!
I was so excited to get this offer from Viking since it means so many more of you will become Designer owners. And that means we’ll have some great trade-ins to pass along at great prices to the ‘newbies’ who are getting back into our world of creativity! I know almost half price sounds a bit “out there,” even for us…but I am thrilled to have an opportunity to be able pass this great special savings on to you.

I hope we have made your week! Keep smiling!
